There are 3 key pieces of information that we require from you to assist with your enquiry; Type of event/Date of event/Style of dress. Order
Upon taking the decision of placing an order; we require confirmation of this by securing a dress slot by making a 10% (non refundable) deposit from your dress total. Once payment has been made & order confirmed, we will then commence on the sketch of your design. This will be sent out to you within 7 working days of placing your order with us.
Beginning
Pattern Drafting - Toile Fittings - Fabric Sourcing; where the fun begins! We will draft the pattern for your design and create a working toile to your gown to achieve the best desired fit for your body measurements. This stage allows you the opportunity to be involved with the tailoring of your dress and to see first hand how it will adorn your figure prior to the actual making using your chosen fabrics. Choosing and ordering the fabrics will be high on our priority list at this stage.
Making
Once the toile fittings are successfully out the way & to your satisfaction, work will commence on the making of your actual gown. Cutting out the chosen fabrics & bringing your dress to life from the flat pattern pieces. This stage involves roughly 2-3 fittings.
Collection
Having reached the end of your experience with us, we will have hopefully left you with nothing short of perfection. When you leave us with your bespoke Acacia Studio garment; we promise to keep your secret until after the special day. We pride ourselves in keeping your design confidential, and will not disclose or show the completed garment before your event date passes.
FAQ
How long does it take to create a custom evening gown?
Making a custom gown is a special process and requires 3 - 4 months lead time.
If you need it sooner, we can certainly cater to this.
What is the price range for a custom evening gown?
Price ranges between £600 - £2000 depending on the fabrics and intricacy of design.
This is all inclusive of appointments and fabrics. There are no hidden costs.
What should I bring to the fittings?
Please wear nude undergarments - preferably what you plan to wear on the day.
For the last fitting, please also have your heels ready.
Who should I bring to my fittings?
You’re most welcome to bring a friend or family member. Kindly let us know before the appointment.
How many fittings do I need?
We will require a minimum of 2-4 fittings depending on the dress. The first fitting is with a toile, which is a “test-run” made in another fabric.
How does payment work?
Payments are via bank transfer.
The deposit is 10% (Non Refundable) and the remainder is due before you take the dress home.
Do you take overseas orders?
Yes! We can absolutely take overseas orders. Design consultation and measurements are done via video call and fabric samples will be shipped to you.
Having at least one fitting is still recommended to ensure perfection. This can be discussed during the consultation.
Can you make the exact design from a photo I found?
We pride ourselves on original design so we do not recreate replicas from photos. However, we can incorporate the elements of the design you like into an original gown.
Who makes the garments?
All gowns are handmade in the studio from start to finish.
